LIVE IN PEACE

Hi Everyone:

1st Corinthians 7:15 "…………God has called us to live in peace." Paul is instructing the Church on matters of marriage; it would do well for all to study this chapter.

As you should all know by now my mission is to preach salvation and the way to get there. I do not want to get involved in telling others how to live. God's Word does an excellent job and there is no way to improve upon it.

To live in peace requires two things: First we must love the 'Lord with all our heart' and second we should "love one another as we would ourselves.' I am not telling you to do this, quite the contrary, Jesus is. I will say one of Paul's concerns in this chapter is the distractions of the world which usually begin at home.

NO INHERITANCE

Hi Everyone:

1st Corinthians 6:9 "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders… will inherit the kingdom of God." Harsh but true.

Yes it will be true for those who do not accept Jesus as Savior, but the Bible says that anyone can be saved. Belief + acceptance = salvation; a simple formula but necessary. One must believe Jesus died on the cross for the sin of mankind; He was resurrected and then ascended into heaven. He died once for all who believe. One must then, in faith, accept Jesus into his/her heart after confessing their sins to Him who already knows all.

For those who have already taken this action I will see you in Heaven; for those who haven't I can only ask you to consider:

DISCIPLINE

Hi Everyone:

1st Corinthians 5: In this chapter Paul chastises the Church for not judging a particular person who had committed a grievous sin. He tells them they are to exercise judgment within the Church group and discipline when necessary. He also said "God will judge those outside," (verse 13) and they should not concern themselves except for their own. Good advice from Paul I'd say.

Personally (my opinion based on what I read in Scripture) is we should do as Paul says and closely monitor our Church group; if we don't Satan can cause much chaos and divisions within. You know what they say about one bad apple in the barrel. We must remember though there is a way to go about it when we see a situation that requires disciplining. Paul does say we are "not to associate with anyone who calls himself a brother who is living a carnal life," (verse 11). Pray for him, yes; discipline him, yes, but if he won't change we are not to associate with him.

I leave you with joyous news: Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life:

A DIFFICULT ONE

Romans 4: I must tell you it is very difficult for me to maintain my writing about salvation in this article because Paul is trying to introduce humility to the Corinthians. It is apparent they have become 'too big for their britches' and need to be taken down a peg or two.

In verse 5 Paul tells them: "Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time, wait till the Lord comes." It appears they were trying to play God to some degree by adding and taking away things pertaining to spiritually.

Paul's objective is to teach them to treasure their new found faith and not add burdens on the saints; this is also applicable for all of us today. This is the reason I am so much against religions today that place burdens on their members creating all kinds of problems that are totally unnecessary when you compare them to the teachings of Jesus.

Jesus says He is 'the Way, the Truth and the Life' which means we should follow Him, believe Him and know that by accepting Him as our Lord and Savior we will have eternal life.

You can know this if you will only:

Read the Bible to discover the truth for your self.

PS Please note the ending of the article and how it ends with a salvation message; thank you Holy Spirit.
