THE NARROW DOOR
Luke 13:24: “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you will try to enter and not be able to.” Is Jesus telling those who ask Him to come into their heart as Savior to be denied?
No, what it is saying is many people who think they know the true God, or have the necessary faith for salvation, just don’t have it; they are probably religious people who have faith in their religion but not God.
This is the very reason religions can be dangerous for people who place their trust and faith in it’s doctrine; in the ‘do this’ and ‘don’t do that’ philosophy.
I suppose it is possible to have accepted Jesus as one’s Savior and continue to be a member of a religion, as long as one does not do, or go along with things that are contrary to the teachings of Jesus. I am not entirely convinced of what I just said but it is a compromise. God is the final judge.
Personally I would rather listen to what Jesus tells us in the Gospels, literally. Why take a chance?
