THE PARABLE OF THE TENANTS
Luke 20:9-17: This is a great illustration of the Prophet’s of old and Jesus. In the Old Testament days God spoke to the people through Prophet’s and in the New Testament Jesus speaks. The Jews were (and still are) a stubborn nation refusing to accept God’s wishes. The tenants in the parable repeatedly refused to honor their commitment to the landlord and threw out the servants who were sent to collect some of the fruit, and finally killed his son. In the same way the Jews refused to honor God by not accepting His Son Jesus, and finally killed Him. What did the owner do?
The owner of the vineyard gave it to others and God gave the Gentiles (you and me) direct access to Him when the veil in the temple was torn from top to bottom at the precise moment when Jesus gave up His Spirit on the cross.
I don’t know how God can simplify salvation more than He has; confess your sins to Him and ask Jesus to come into your heart as your Savior. Is today your day of commitment?
