HOW GOD SPEAKS

 

Romans 10:17: “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.” That is how God speaks to us; He left His ‘voice’ by giving us His Living Word. For those who might doubt this I suggest you do what Paul says and read the Bible.

 

Verse 4: “Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.” There are religions today whose doctrine is the law, which, as just quoted, became obsolete when Jesus came. They place unnecessary burdens upon the people; that’s why Jesus said to follow Him because His ‘yoke’ was easy.

 

Verse 9: “That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Confession, belief, faith = salvation.

 

This is powerful, effective scripture for non-believers and most encouraging for believers.

RECONCILIATION

Romans 5:1-2: “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into his grace in which we now stand.” Verse 10 explains how we are reconciled to Him even while we are His enemy; i.e. we were sinners. Jesus died on the cross for sinners who confess their sins and accept Jesus Christ as Savior; and that means all the people of all time.

 

It’s important to understand each person begins life in sin because of Adam and Eve. And the only hope of salvation is accepting God’s free gift of Jesus who gave His life; ‘a ransom for many.’ We are so fortunate to live in a time period when all that is required to be saved is, in faith, believe what God said in John 3:16; He told the world that whoever ‘believed in Jesus would have eternal life and never perish.’

 

Do you want eternal life? Do you want to know how? A simple confession of faith in Jesus and asking Him to be your Savior is all that is required. Today would be an excellent day to seek Jesus.
