THE LOST SHEEP OF ISRAEL

John 10:5, 6, quotes Jesus: “Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel.”

Wouldn’t that make you feel left out? Forgotten by God? Remember Jesus didn’t come for the Gentiles, He came for His people; the Jews.

But, and a big but at that, when they refused to accept Him as the Messiah and then crucified Him, guess what happened? That’s right, welcome Gentiles. When Jesus died on the cross many things happened at that moment, one of them being the tearing of the veil in the Temple that originally was to prevent anyone, except the High Priest, from entering the Holy of Holies and the presence of God.

The tearing of the veil was to signify that everyone now has direct access to the Father. No need for any intermediary other then Jesus.

When one reads the Bible and believes what he/she reads it is enlightening, encouraging and most of all deepens our faith.
